Roberta Blackman-Woods Former Member of Parliament for the City of Durham

Both the Prime Minister and the Chancellor have promised that austerity is ending, yet despite this, the cuts are set to continue.
I was therefore delighted to join Labour Party members in Durham Market Place on Saturday campaigning for a fairer society. The people that we spoke to were very receptive to the Labour message that despite the warm words of the Chancellor in his budget speech, austerity continues. That means schools, colleges and social care providers continue to be underfunded.
Only Labour have a plan to end austerity, and rebuild Britain for the many, not the few.
