On Friday 1st July, Roberta Blackman-Woods, MP for the city of Durham, was invited to open the new Post Office in Kelloe.
The cutting of the red tape was carried out by Roberta who was joined by councillor Mac Williams, the chairman of Durham County Council and former Mayor, Jan Blakey as well as the new Post Master.
The opening of the post office has been warmly welcomed by the community and will be a fantastic new resource for Kelloe locals. The office will offer many services to local residents as well as public access to local and national amenities, the chance to shorten commuting times and possible employment. Kelloe has lacked this service since 2008 as previously there was no post office provision. Fortunately the opening of the new centre will contribute to the village and offer a service closer to home.
Roberta said ‘I was very pleased to officially open this new facility for the inhabitants of Kelloe. I’m glad my constituents now have access again to this vital service’
