Roberta Blackman-Woods MP (City of Durham) has today given her backing to the "Time to Change" campaign to end mental health discrimination.  Roberta signed the campaign's pledge at an event today at the Gala Theatre in Durham City.

Roberta said,

"We need to end the stigma around mental health.  Millions of people suffer some kind of mental health problems and we need to make sure that people feel able to talk about those issues and seek the help they need.

"We have great new facilities in Durham to help people with mental health issues, but we need to do more to address the public's perceptions of mental health and that is what this campaign is trying to do.  So I was very happy to give my support to ‘Time to Change' today."

More information about the campaign can be found at http://www.time-to-change.org.uk/
