Durham MP launches campaign to change licensing laws

Roberta Blackman-Woods MP (City of Durham) has joined the national organisation, Object, to launch a campaign to change the way strip clubs are licensed.  Currently these clubs are licensed in the same way as pubs and bars, and local authorities often have difficulty turning applications down where they think it would be inappropriate to site one of these clubs.  Roberta and the campaign believe this needs to be changed.  The MP will be introducing a 10 Minute Rule Bill to the House of Commons in the coming weeks to raise this important issue.

MP forces Government to accept a way forward for the Leamside Line

Roberta Blackman-Woods MP (City of Durham), who has been campaigning for the reopening of the Leamside Line for some time, has forced the Department for Transport to accept that there is a potential future for the line.
