Roberta Blackman-Woods MP (City of Durham) has hit back at Durham City Council and the Government Office for the North East (GONE) for a complete lack of interest in the delivery of affordable housing at Byland Lodge in Durham City Centre.

Court outcome vindicates local campaign against lap dance club location

Roberta Blackman-Woods MP (City of Durham) has welcomed the decision of the High Court not to grant a judicial review into the matter of a lap dance club application in her constituency. This matter was brought to the High Court by the applicant after the permission granted by Durham City Council for a lap dance club on North Road was overturned by the Magistrates' Court in Durham thanks to a concerted campaign by the MP and local residents.
