MP to petition Commons on Brancepeth speed limit

Roberta will present a petition on behalf of the residents of Brancepeth to the House of Commons today calling for a reduction in the speed limit through the village to 30mph.  This is the latest effort by the MP who is supporting local residents in their campaign to make this change.

"Continued support for apprenticeships is vital", MP

Roberta Blackman-Woods MP (City of Durham) praised schools in her constituency for working together to offer as wide a selection of vocational courses as possible in a question to the schools Minister in the House of Commons.  She also pressed for continued government support for apprenticeships and vocational education for younger people.

MP refers new late license issue to Minister

Roberta Blackman-Woods MP (City of Durham) has passed on her concerns about the proliferation of too many late licences in Durham City to the Licensing Minister, Gerry Sutcliffe MP.  Residents have raised with the MP their concerns that later licences - up to 4am in some cases - around their homes will lead to an increase in noise and disturbance.
