Local MP hails "successful" housing meeting

Roberta Blackman-Woods, MP for the City of Durham and chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Balanced and Sustainable Communities, today hailed a housing meeting she had organised as "a great success" and a "positive first step towards solving the very real housing issues we face in Durham".

MP congratulates local training scheme

Local MP Roberta Blackman-Woods recently visited Finchale Training college in Durham to handover a cheque worth £13,000 from leading mental health charity Mind. The money is to fund the college's ‘load of old rubbish' eco-project which sees trainees, many of who experience mental difficulties, create and enter a conservation themed garden into the 2009 RHS Tatton Park Flower Show.
