Roberta's campaign to bring to Durham more dentists, more GPs with longer surgery hours and more money for the local hospital has been a huge success.

Roberta has welcomed initial success for the campaign to have the Lindisfarne Gospels returned home to the North East. At a meeting in Westminster chaired by Roberta, parliamentarians campaigning for the return of the Lindisfarne Gospels to the North East were given good news by the British Library. A new report into the condition of the historic Gospels has today been discussed by the British Library board. The Independent Expert Review Group conducting the condition report has concluded that the Lindisfarne Gospels could be loaned to the North East on a temporary but on-going basis.

Roberta recently visited the fantastic new facilities at Durham Johnston school which mark the latest in a series of Government investment in our schools and young people. Aside from the now open facilities at Durham Johnston, Roberta is also backing plans to rebuild Framwellgate Moor School and provide a brand new, state of the art Academy for Gilesgate and Belmont, providing new twenty first century facilities for all children in Durham and the villages.
