About the Ward:

This is an area with a large amount of student housing and a large amount of family housing so the mix of those two, and maintaining a balance, is, of course, an important issue, and one which I take up often in Parliament.The area around Laurel Avenue has seen significant investment in the Sure Start centre which I opened and in the primary school.

This area is due to be a feeder area to the new university-backed academy when it is built. I remain interested in listening to and speaking to parents from feeder schools about this new academy which I hope will really raise education standards even further in this
