About the Ward:

As well as Framwellgate Moor itself this ward takes in Pity Me, Brasside, Bearpark and Witton Gilbert. Over and inappropriate development is a problem in the Framwellgate Moor area. On Front Street litter and traffic have been problematic, but are now being dealt with better. Framwellgate School is being re-built as a science village to enhance its current reputation for science excellence and achievement.

In Bearpark I would like to see better support for the local community association which co-ordinates important community events. Young people’s facilities remain an issue of concern, and I join local people in fighting for the retention and improvement of bus services to the village.

Witton Gilbert’s primary school is really excellent and is at the heart of the community and has benefited from education investment from Government. Bus services through this village remain a matter of concern too.
